How the lists received the name Loving the Ordinary
Loving the Ordinary Lists, I have decided to call it that because it fits us. We are living this one life to the fullest – the awe-filled ordinary days, the little special treats, and the big moments, where we pause to enjoy this ordinary moment.
The ways we can build our lives to cherish who and what we hold dear, our values and goals met daily.
Now, I know that sounds like “audacious” ideas for special days and times when work doesn’t have a deadline, the family doesn’t need five things at once, or when there is a free weekend.
But we only have this one life, and today is a part of it. So for today – this moment – do one thing that brings you closer to who you want to be.
Those are the reasons for building these monthly lists. I want something to turn to for inspiration when I have a few minutes or a whole day to enjoy this one life.
Criteria for the List
When I was coming up with this list, I ran my ideas through these criteria:
- Encourage special everyday moments
- Lead to seasonal enjoyment
- Offers connection to self and others
- Making time to create and care for a Home
- Exploring creative interests and activities
These are my thoughts on living A Carefully Curated Life. The goal is to live intentionally and remarkably in simple and significant ways through our home, life, community, and interests. As I said initially, ‘We only have this one life, and today is a part of it. So for today – this moment – do one thing that brings you closer to who you want to be.’ If you’d like to find a few months, visit my blogs for more monthly ideas.
