An easy fun herbal project using a SunArt Kit
This Herbal SunArt project is an easy fun afternoon project that I completed using herbs and a purchased SunArt kit. I used the herbs I talked about in my previous blog 12+ Culinary Herbs to Grow. There are approximately 5 steps to creating a postcard ~ just depends if you count purchasing the kit as a step ~ wink.
- Purchase a SunArt Kit normally under $10.00. See photo above. You can find them at local craft stores or on-line from vendors like Amazon.
2. Follow the kit instructions to create your art; using flowers, leaves, anything that can lay flat to create. Here is what I did. Firstly, cut your herbs. Second, lay the herbs on the paper from the kit. Then put glass from the kit on top. Then wait a set amount of time. Lastly, rinse under water. Ta da! You have completed a piece of SunArt.
3. After that frame, make cards or postcards, cover a journal, have fun with all the possibilities. For example, the SunArt are my finished papers with the herbs I used to create them.
4. Finally, here is my finished postcard project. I glued them to blank postcards and taped the edges with Washi Tape. Then I wrote on the print with a white ink pen.
Ta Da ~ A finished easy herbal postcard
I hope you try this project. I admit it was so easy that I went looking for more herbs to create papers. The herbs you can see in the photos are rosemary, thyme, parsley, lavender and eucalyptus. Similarly, the ideas of leaves and other flowers to use are endless. Please leave a comment below and share your SunArt projects. In addition, sign up to be notified when another blog is posted.
