Fall is here — time for colored leaves, brisk air, blooming mums, apples, and cozy interiors — all the things to love in fall. After all the summer exploring, now is the time we head towards home and enjoy autumn. Autumn brings us back inside. That is to say, I want to ensure we remember a few little things. This Fall Love Checklist is to help us remember to take the time to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of fall.
A few Fall Love ideas include:
- Take the time to drag your feet through the leaves and enjoy that sound.
- Start gathering colored leaves for pressing, leaf rubbings, crafts, or to tuck into cards. Furthermore, for instructions on how to make cards, check out this blog.
- Try something pumpkin spice {even though Starbucks started a little early for me}.
- Stroll through your local small businesses searching for your perfect fall-scented candle.
- Crochet, knit, sew, or buy at a fall craft fair fingers-less gloves, now that the weather is getting nippy.
- Purchase a decorative boot tray beside the entry door or closet in order to corral wet shoes.
A Checklist for activities could include
Above all, I hope you enjoy and make special fall memories. It doesn’t have to be every weekend or a tremendously extensive bucket list of 30 things to do. Pick one or two activities to enjoy yourself or with someone special. Don’t forget to make mulled cider – there’s even a National Day for that: September 30th.
One last idea for a gathering with friends and family is to host an Apple Tasting event. Pick up a few apple varieties at the orchard or farmer’s market. Start by slicing the apples. Then see what a Gala Apple tastes like, a Honey Crisp, or a good old fashion Yellow Delicious. See who likes which kind, rank the ‘Favorite,’ have scorecards and chalkboards, and do whatever works for you to have fun with this season’s fruit. Afterward, create a “bar” with caramel, chocolate topping, nuts, mini marshmallows, or other favorites to dip the apple slices into as dessert.
Wishing you Fall Love
This fall is ours. We don’t have to fill the season to the rim. We can take a moment to enjoy it, so here’s a checklist to have fun with. I’ve included a copy of the Fall Love Checklist in our weekly newsletter in September. If you don’t receive the weekly newsletter, head over to the website to sign up for it. I share fun lists, journal prompts, layouts, and fun activity sheets in my newsletter.
Another place to get the checklist is by joining our Facebook Group. It is in the files tab. If you want more ideas for your checklist, order September’s Loving the Ordinary eBook or sign up for community and ideas with the Curated Fall Membership. Please fill the checklist out as you wish, and if I forgot something, please send it to me. I’ll put it on next year’s list. Happy Fall.
