Why did I begin A Carefully Curated Life blog?
I want to help others find themselves, design homes, and create/curate their lives. We all have dreams and goals. We want beautiful homes that fit our lifestyle and bring us joy. Furthermore, we all want to enjoy our time doing activities we love. But how do we do that? We begin creating our Carefully Curated Life. Often, we come to a spot where we are unsure of who we are and what we want and are unhappy with our homes and lives. I want to help you find the path to how you want to live, beginning to curate your life carefully.
I have been there. After a divorce, I realized I needed to rebuild my life, and I was unsure how to begin. I then started the process of creating and curating my home, my garden, my interests, and my life to become organized, less stressful and living each day intentionally in my beautiful home that took care of my needs so I could go out into the world and enjoy this one life we have. This process was the start of beginning my Carefully Curated Life.
So, how did I achieve this grand idea?
As a result of coming to that spot myself, I started as an Explorer. I thought about, journaled about, and tried out ideas of
- How I wanted to live, meaning the lifestyle I desired
- How and where I wanted to spend my days.
- The kind of home and garden I wanted to live in.
- Finally, I wanted to know what interests I wanted to enjoy.
For some, it’s called intentional living. I say it is all about being open to the possibilities of living.
Ask yourself questions, explore the answers, or just “what if” ideas, places, and things. I sometimes live with the questions for a while, but researching, as in exploring ideas, exploring places, moving the items in my home around, enjoying opportunities, and sometimes not saying no. It is all about being open to possibilities. Figuring out the possibilities of what you like and don’t like is the beginning of a carefully curated life.
That is to say, Carefully Curated Life ~ CCL ~ can help you create and curate your home, garden, interests, and life. It worked for me; it can work for you. In other words, this is not a quick fix; this is about starting, exploring, creating, and curating. Curating is selecting, organizing, and looking after items in our lives.
Here’s my Carefully Curated Life process.
- Start with a journal that allows you to explore ideas, select the ones that fit, and which things in your life no longer serve you.
- Create a plan for what you want and need to do so you can gain control over your schedule, your home, your garden, your interests, and your life.
- Together, we can design your home using items you explored in your journal, places you visited, and pieces you love to fit how you live.
- Explore ideas, including seasonal ones, and interests so you can enjoy your day, week, month, year, and life as you want to live it.
These things allow you to carefully curate the home, garden, and life of your dreams. And to have the tools to keep curating as we grow, learn, and live our lives. I wrote another blog about ‘Life as Art,’ something I genuinely believe in. You can read that here if you wish.
Finally, as I like to say, A Carefully Curated Life is about Loving the Ordinary each and every day. This belief means we have small moments to love the ordinary and extra-ordinary day every day. I hope you join me on this adventure. If you wish to join me, sign up for my weekly newsletter here; we are enjoying 100 Days of Summer Adventure.
