Dreaming of Home: the Beginning Thoughts
So why are my December musings dreaming of Home? The end of the year unquestionably leads to the start of a new one, a time for changes – for aspiration. Most of us started the year with aspirations or resolutions to lose weight, slow down, or stop smoking. So, as we end the year, I was thinking about my dreams for the new year. I realized all my ideas were dreaming of ~ A Home. With this purpose in mind, getting organized, eating healthier, slowing down, and creating more will all be supported by having a Home. A Home, I believe, helps us by allowing us to go out into the world and build our dreams. Our relationship with Home is like our relationships with others – as we nurture, grow, and spend time with our Home, our life is supported and nurtured by it.
Home? I have moved many times in the past ten years. As a result, I would like to have a “home.” Don’t get me wrong, I have a lovely house; it just needs tweaking. You know the details, like my grandmother’s (insert your person) Home, that made you feel welcome when you walked in the door. In other words, from an unlikely source, Coldwell Banker, “Home is the abiding place of the affections.” So here’s what I will throw out as an intention for the coming months.
Creating a Home
I’m going to create our Home. I have been dreaming of one since we knew we were purchasing temporary houses. Now we are getting settled, and I will take charge of what my soul wants. I will say my mind and body have also been wanting a home. I will examine a room monthly, break down the basics, add some details, and make it home.
